NEO RAUCH – A GERMAN PAINTER
Soloists:
Neo Rauch
Director:
Rudij Bergmann
Neo Rauch is one of the most important German contemporary artists. His pictures, often dark and disturbing, wavering between fantasy and reality, objectivism and abstraction, fascinate a large international audience. The filmmaker and author Rudij Bergmann meets the painter from Leipzig in his studio and observes him in preparation for an exhibition at the “Metropolitan Museum of Art” in New York. He tries to perceive the artist’s way of thinking and to discover the world view behind his unsettling and irritating paintings.
