Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere – Winner of the International Classical Music Award 2012

The documentary Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere, the first film about the legendary conductor, also wins the International Classical Music Award 2012 in the category DVD-Documentaries. The Award Ceremony will take place in Nantes/France on 15th May 2012. The Gala Concert with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire will be conduct by its music director John Axelrod.

 

The International Classical Music Award is considered as one of the most important awards for classical music worldwide and is granted every year. The independent jury of leading german music journalists has choosen the winners in 14 CD and DVD categories.

 

Carlos Kleiber is renowned as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. The film, directed by Eric Schulz, follows in the traces of Kleibers final journey from Munich, where he lived, to the slovenian village Konjšica. The documentary includes interviews with friends such as Plácido Domingo, Otto Schenk, Michael Gielen, Brigitte Fassbaender and Otto Staindl but also his sister Veronika Kleiber. She never wanted to talk about the things her brother did, but in this case she made an exception. It was her first and only interview.

 

Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere is produced by Servus TV and published on DVD and Blu-ray Disc by Arthaus Musik.

The documentary Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere wins the German Record Critics Annual Award 2011. Today – Award Ceremony of the ECHO Klassik 2011 at the Konzerthaus Berlin

The documentary Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere wins the ECHO Klassik 2011 in the category „Music DVD Production of the Year“. Today the director Eric Schulz will receive the award at the ECHO Gala Ceremony at the Konzerthaus Berlin.

The ZDF television channel broadcast the gala event at 10.00 pm under the title “ECHO der Stars”.

The documentary Carlos Kleiber – Traces to nowhere, the first film about the legendary conductor which is produced by ServusTV and published on DVD by Arthaus Musik, wins the ECHO Klassik 2011 in the category „Music DVD Production of the Year“. After winning the German Record Critics Annual Award 2011 this ECHO is the second award for the DVD released only in March 2011. The director Eric Schulz will receive the award at the TV Gala Ceremony on 02 October 2011 at the Konzerthaus Berlin (live on ZDF).
